My Fiancé, Mallique and I originally met in middle school, only knowing each other through classes we shared together. Once in high school, our “friendship” started to grow.We both had the same close group of friends, so throughout our high school years we were around each other not only in school but in our free time too, strictly as “friends”.Toward the end of our senior year we were almost inseparable, and yes still as “friends”.

It was our close group of friends that actually saw something before we did. They would always give us a hard time about if and when we would start dating.We would both just laugh, because we were “just friends” . Shortly after graduation, one night, Mallique snuck in for our first kiss, changing that “friendship” status. We have been together ever since.

From day one we have always enjoyed the same hobbies and activities. We started doing everything together, camping, four wheeling, and hiking. From there our relationship only grew stronger. He was the one I could always count on for anything. We both knew after the first couple years that we would get married someday. It has not always been easy, with Malliques job requiring him to travel for weeks or months at a time. But we only found that this pushed us closer together. So after 4 years, we bought our first house and could not be any happier. We really enjoyed working together with at all the projects a new home brings. Although a few years have passed, it really only seemed like yesterday that we had moved in, when we found out we were expecting our son Jackson. We were so extremely happy, he made our family complete. With all the challenges we have faced over the years. Having a child together proved to be one of the hardest yet rewarding. The past 3 years we have had more fun and excitement with him then we could ever imagine!

So on August 13, 2014, on our 10 year anniversary of that first kiss, Mallique proposed. Saying this was the next step to completing our lives together, this made me happier than I ever thought possible. Now after waiting 10 years, which I should have known based off our track record, we get to start planning our wedding!
